Working in Marion County
I believe there is a strong desire in Marion County to support small local businesses. Marion County residents want to see their friends and neighbors succeed in their endeavors. This makes having a local small business really exciting and fun.
Living in Marion County
There is a lot to do in Marion County. Lake Red Rock, trails, Knoxville Raceway, Central College, movies, night life, several great golf courses, Slideways, Nederlanders to name few.
Favorite Place to Relax
I love going to Nederlanders and The Peanut Pub in Pella. My boys and I love going to the sprint car races in Knoxville several times a summer. Our family spends a lot of time at the ball diamond and in the gym at numerous youth games and tournaments throughout the year.
Career Opportunities
So many management careers in the construction world will be coming open in the years
to come. A lot of these careers start as laborers in their specific field. The number of people starting their professional careers in construction is dwindling. Now is a tremendous time to enter the construction industry because there will be numerous opportunities for advancement in the future.
Community Favorites
I love downtown Pella. Great place to bring your family and friends when visiting. The THREE bakeries are my absolute favorite. Great spots to grab coffee or a drink with a friend or colleague too.
Career Advice to Teens
Do it! The construction industry is longing for more youth to join it's industry. Numerous trades looking for young motivated people. Find a company that is willing to train and possibly pay for some schooling if you join their team.

What is your wish for the Red Rock Area?
I would love Marion County to continue to evolve in being more attractive for young professionals and families to call home. Continued growth of our extremely strong manufacturing is so closely linked
to people deciding to call Marion County home. Strong jobs and careers are so closely linked to Marion County's growth and amenities that make this area such a great place to call home.
What is your biggest passion, and why?
**Seeing young people learn something new and seeing them realize that practice and hardwork does pay off.
**Bringing a gift to someone that does not expect it, but definitely deserves it.
