Working in Marion County
I have access to so many different business owners who are willing to share about what they do and why. Both within my company and in the community, there are endless personal & professional development opportunities if you just ask.
Living in Marion County
I feel very safe and supported in Marion County. It’s a big deal to be able to move somewhere new and feel like you can go on hikes, attend events, and be in town by yourself or with new people.
Favorite Place to Relax
Enjoying a treat with friends at De Scoop, on the pickleball courts, or attending a board meeting for a local group/club.
Career Opportunities
1) Marion County is extremely supportive of Entrepreneurship.
2) There are lots of companies, both big and small, that you can enjoy a career at. Within those companies, most provide you with the chance to learn about more than just your role.
3) There are lots of businesses and events in town that you can volunteer at to expand your network and knowledge.
Community Favorites
Tulip Time and Thursdays in Pella are my favorite community events because they bring big groups of people together and showcase local businesses & talent in an outdoor space.
Career Advice to Teens
The ability to communicate effectively is your greatest tool. It is one thing to understand information, but it is another to be able to share information with others in a way in a way that they will understand.
While I do not wish to work in sales, this is why I got a minor in it. To understand how to listen to the buyer and what questions to ask the seller, because I am both of these people every day.
Mentor
Jon Rahn – Jon is a people leader both personally and professionally. He led many outreach groups that I am currently a part of and always cared very deeply about others. He had a huge influence over my decision to become so involved in local activities.
What is your wish for the Red Rock Area?
For thoughtful apartment planning that works. City and real-estate planners working together with the community to understand what “affordable” means for each town and what the biggest housing needs are outside of just room availability.
What is your biggest passion, and why?
I am most passionate about student outreach. As a very social person who enjoys public speaking and asking questions, I see outreach as a way to start conversations that help students or young adults learn more about what they do (or don’t) want in life and how to take the next step.
3 Hobbies
